yes, it does produce PF too - in green and purple
but it is not too bad - much less than my 10-17, but not as good as my F* 300
i thing every lens can produce PF - depends on the contrast

focus speed
well it is not really a highspeed lens in terms of autofocus, i think so
if you loose the focuspoint complete it is a very long way - but it got a focuslimiter
hold a small bird between a lot of leaves in focus can become difficult,
you have to be very carefully

i didn't met anybody yet with a 600 f 4.0
so i can not say if it is better or the same as other 600 from canikon
but, there is no real alternative for pentax in its class, beside the FA*
so it is like useless to talk about to much details

if you can find a F* or FA* take it you will be very impressed for shure
but i found there are much more people out there just telling storys about, than having one in real

How do you Post produce theimages to get them out ?

i use lightroom
it does have a special tool to reduce PF and CAs

finally i select only the bright colour "magenta" or "Cyan"
usually these extreme colours are only found in the PF within the foto

so you can make it less bright and more dark
reduce the brightness and intensivity of these colours
so you can get these parts down to almost BW

well i wouldn't work with this guy
took this one today with the 600

Suggest my setup for your 600.
It's not much good for chasing hummingbirds but it sure is stable. Just remember to keep a lot of grease around.
