Teleconverters

as a follow up to this thread, https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/general-photography-techniques-styles/863...otography.html

I have a range of Pentax, Sigma and Tamron lenses for my k20d...are there recommended teleconverters that works with them all? Dont really mind manual as thats what i use at long range rather then AF.

Daytime usage mostly.

The TC that comes closest to working well with most of the k-mount lenses from any vendor in AF/MF is the Pentax af 1.7x converter

I understood that new Pentax F 1.7X TC assembled in Vietnam started to be available.

You'd have to say *which* lenses you have. If they are basic consumer zooms, then pretty much no TC will be an improvement over cropping. If they are higher-end lenses, then there might be TC's designed or known to match well with them.

I can vouch for the Tamron x1.4 TC MC4 version.
Even used mt M42 adapter in it and used my Takumar longer lenses on it.

Works a charm ... and theres really no real drop in IQ with it either.

Hi Reportage,

I use a Kenko Teleplus 1.5x DG TC and Kenko Teleplus 2x MC7 DG TC with my DA*300 and I'm quite happy with the results. I did some 100% crop tests a while ago which you can see here:
