Suggestions on a Lens

I have the K100D. The lenses I have are the standard kit lens (18-55), and a Sigma 70-300. Neither one if them are any good in low light conditions. They are great for outdoors, but when it comes to shots in the house, I need something faster.

I have looked around, but really havent decided on anything. I would like to get some suggestions. I dont want to spend too much. Under $200 would be great, but not written in stone. Prime, or Zoom dosent matter much as long as it isnt too wide or tight to make it unusable. Mainly I want to shoot family, pets, other indoor subjects.

Thanks in advance.

If you can deal with not having autofocus and (usually) dealing with the relative inconvenience of using lenses without an automatic aperture ring setting, it's nearly impossible to beat the oldschool Pentax-M primes.

They're cheap and have excellent quality. 50mm f/2s can be found for $50 or less, I got a 135mm f/2.5 for $72 including shipping. (I haven't had a chance to try it yet, it will hopefully arrive tomorrow but I've heard many good things about it.)

Affordable and fast: FA50 f1.4 (or a used and even cheaper version). But the 50 is only good for head and sholders or taking pictures of medium sized objects.
Still great value and much more usable for your scenarios: FA35 f2.0.

Of course if you like to use your zooms you can invest in a dedicated flash such as the 360fgz and use it with a modifier (diffuser) or bounce it.

Personally I greatly recommend the FA35, its a superb lens for a good price.

FA50/1.4 new ~$175 after rebate!!!
DA40 new ~225 after USA rebate
FA35/2 new ~300 (if DA35 ever ships, there will be a load of used FA35/2)

FA43ltd, FA31ltd are fast enough but out of your price range

I liked teh FA50 on film and worried about needing the 35mm with the switch to digital, but it turns out I love the 50mm onthe DSLR! my pictures are WAY better from getting closer to the subject.

But if you care, an extra $50 and two stops of light will buy you 10mm wider view. IF you really want fast, high quality on a budget its hard to beat the FA50/1.4 without giving up autofocus.

Everything about what you're looking for is pointing towards the FA50/1.4
To me, this lens is a must have, and a must take on every photo job. Beautiful pictures come out of this simple lens.
If 50 is not wide enough, you might have to look into the 35/2 as mentioned before.
But you can't go wrong with the 50/1.4 - many will agree it is a favourite.
