1. Too dark to use at the long end unless sunny weather

2. Soft images wide open beyond 430mm

3. What is so useful having a 50mm focal length with aperture of f5.6?

4. Filter size too big and costly ...

5. Susceptible to dust

6. Lacks pentax touch to the images ...

its big (funny that)
its really heavy, especially when you have to carry it all day.
its slow, I always like to be 1 stop down for sharpness, so usually working around f8 (sharpness is best between 100-400) which with my shakey hands 300-500 is almost definite tripod / monopod job.
ca / bokeh etc nothing amazing but not bad, so pretty average.

overall, its not too bad and there isn't many other choices that come close especially for the money (I hope to pick up a f/fa300 one day so as to have more choice on what I carry)
