Yeah, I had already put a watch on that one. However, the problem is it will go for several thousand, and my wife would see that big white beauty and immediately know I had put our retirement (in 10 years) off by a few months.

When I saw the ongoing price this morning, it was running at around 1200$, but I am sure it'll go much higher between now and auction closing.

I get your point regarding retirement: no way my "tender-half" would allow such a shopping spree unless I had the funds to match into the retirement fund!
Oh well, dreaming is OK.

Tell her you bought a white lens because white goes with everything.

Tell her you got it for a song because the black paint had all worn off.

I gotta watch this one to see whether it sells for less than the one I got from KEH. If it does, I'll kick myself because this one comes with TCs (!)

Beautiful! and with both Pentax 1.4 and 2.0x TCs included....what a package to stroke on lonely Saturday nights. Its already had almost 1,200 views so I just put in a bid just to bump it a couple hundred to see if I could even hold the lead for a minute. No go. Maybe I will play a little more LBA Russian roulette with the bidding.

I am high bidder on the lens and TCs at this moment and maybe for another 60 seconds. Its just LBA roulette but fun to pretend. Ok, back to work.

....a white Kx? great idea! Style points count.

Inflate the price?? If it goes (bet you $20 it won't) for my current high bid, I will happily own it. But if you follow ebay crap you know most of the real buyers are waiting until 10 seconds left. They won't let me have it and I will have no impact on its price. WTF posesses you to think you understand the dynamics of ebay better than the actual buyers?

I was bidding on a A*300 f4 a couple years ago when somebody posted it on DPR and the price shot up over $150 in minutes. I was really steamed, a fair price is one thing, but used pentax stuff is really overpriced lately. A couple of DPRites are always posting auctions, I quit looking for a tamron 400mm f4 for that same reason.

That one's really nice and clean.

I saw one of those sell for much less @ Adorama... but it was also obvious it had had a full and perhaps 'tough' life up until then. :ugh:
