Weird / Rare Pentax Lenses

I browse Ebay every once in a while and here are some that I've never seen before.

I just think they are fun to look at and talk about.

A K 135-600/6.7 zoom in nice condition with the trunk. It's part of a "lot"

Pentax K2DMD - eBay (item 300389050758 end time Jan-30-10 14:45:24 PST)

An Pentax Auto-Takumar 20mm F4.5 Lens 20/4.5 M42

It has a weird front element that spreads out

Pentax Auto-Takumar 20mm F4.5 Lens 20/4.5 M42 - eBay (item 300371565150 end time Feb-25-10 00:49:02 PST)

A Pentax Fisheye Takumar 18mm F11 Lens 18/11 M42

An f11 fisheye that is so flat that it makes the DA 40 look thick... strange

Pentax Fisheye-Takumar 18mm F11 Lens 18/11 M42 - eBay (item 270491760635 end time Feb-24-10 22:30:15 PST)

Those are weird. That fisheye is like a pinhole camera.

I remember not bothering to bid on one of those 18mm FE Takumars after some research. It went for $50. I remember some interesting photos, though.

The 20mm f4.5 is a Super-Takumar with all of its markings painted black. Possibly from Area 51 or some other secret operation.

I think the K135-600 lot is actually a good deal, if it's in decent shape. I would love to have a lens that came in a giant case with the lens name on the case. I would go to every tourist spot I could find, unpack and take three shots.

Depending on condition, of course, there are some interesting things in this lot. The K2 DMD is a great camera with all the bells and whistles available before the LX. The K 135-600/6.7 zoom, is very rare, and very big as I recall. A forum member has had some success with it. Toss in the rest of the lenses (M 50/1.4, M 100/4 macro and M135/3.5), depending on condition, and it could be a steal if you are in the market for these items at the Buy it Now price of $750.00.

I like that first listing. If I hadn't just bought the SMC 1000mm f/8, I'd jump on that 135-600. Looks like a good deal to me.

The weird flange on the 20mm is part of the hood. The hood can be unscrewed into two parts.

Yeah, I've got one of those 135-600 lenses (with the case) - got it from KEH for about $400. Takes some mighty sharp photos too!

Hi Mole, I've been following your posts over on Steve's. What was the condition of the lens when you bought it from KEH? $400 seems like a great price. They currently have a screwmount 135-600 that's listed as BARGAIN at $569 (and that's a marked down price).

There's a new Pentaxian in my office and he's seriously eyeing the lens, so I may get to play with it soon.

That 18mm FE is way overpriced based on what I have seen them go for. ~$125-200 would be more realistic. That K2DMD and lens set went for a good price. Coming from HI, I'd be worried about fungus.

I have a weird/rare Pentax lens:

Takumar 100mm f3.5 Preset (1957) 1 on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

It may be on the market soon, but it is probably only interesting to real Pentax afficianado/collector. There seem to be no more than a handful of them in the world.

Got it when I bought a dead guy's screwmount collection along with one of the most seriously used looking black Spotmatic IIs I've ever seen. Serious brassing! (Looks cooler than a mint one, IMHO.) Nice to know the guy used the heck out of it while he was alive. (In contrast the rare Takumar is in amazingly nice shape, as you can probably see.)

So, did anyone here buy the 135-600? I tried to talk my (new Pentaxian) co-worker into buying it and he was about to pull the trigger, but then started factoring in the cost of a new tripod and gimbal head. Darn logic!
