I'm looking for a wide zoom. I do a lot of long exposure night photography, and although I'm often in full moon, autofocus doesn't work. Using wider lenses, I find them difficult to manually focus at night since you can't see very well.
My father has a Sigma 10-20 and has no problems, since he basically sets the focus right on the line of infinity and he knows anything past 10 feet is in focus. I would prefer the 12-24 I think, but I wonder if anyone could tell me how it is for manual focusing, preferably at night? What is the full range of focus distance? I see the minimum is about 1 foot, but how far does it go before it hits infinity?
