I'll take it, if you're not using it.
I was wondering how long it would take for this response.

Well if it did I could always revert to another focal length, like my 70 or 100...

Well, if I were to choose the one lens from the complete arsenal of all the lenses I have used or owned from the recent Pentax Series I would have to give it the following lens.
Now before I do so, it is not the only lens I would need to survive at my craft, but pretty close.

Here goes...Ta, Da, De Ta Ta Ta ta...

The "PENTAX DA 12-24 f4.0 Lens"

PS...To survive I could literally live with two lenses only. The above DA 12-24 and the DA* 16-50 f2.8 lens.

That would be just fine...
Geez Ben......thats like asking a bloke to choose between his girlfriends.....and then a leggy redhead goes walking by...

I could live with my DA 14, FA 43 & DA* 200.....but I dont have the "leggy redhead" as in a 12-24 either.

true, but those aren't SDM lenses anymore. thus, the point whether the person would get another SDM lens or not, would simply prove the loss of confidence on such product.

My favorite would be the M28/2.8 I bought from this forum. It's sharp, light & a great focal length for outdoor shots on the K10D.

The only time I don't use it is when I need a different focal length or faster.

I cannot count how many times I have used this lens and am awe struck by how sharp it is, the amazing contrast and the lack of distortion.

A great lens.

Ben
These are superb images, showing how an Ultra Wide Angle can work in scene and portraiture.

Amazing how you come up with all these ideas.

Has anyone else noticed Oggy's gear list? His signature: "What SDM Issue?" is poetic justice in the making. (To a more likable sort, it would be a tragic irony )

I'd have to say "my precious" is the Pentax FA 20mm F2.8, but I also thoroughly enjoy many of my other lenses: the FA 20-35mm; Tamron 90mm macro; Tamron 28-75 F2.8; DA 12-24mm; FA 43 and FA77 ltds; Pentax K 135 F2.5; etc.

Big fan of the DA*50-135.... however... recently got the DA*16-50, great lens in a focus length which I find more useful, focus much faster, smaller... have to say that the 16-50 is my favourite.

BEN!!! those photos are completely awesome. And then some.

I like the 43 Ltd... but then some Takumars have an issue with that. That 12-24 seems like an awesome piece however.
