Replace "no SDM" with "SDM II with bonus anti-fall-apart" for the anti-Luddite in me.

(I didn't vote because there was no "all of the above.")

EDIT: I hope you guys realize that a 24 f/1.4 and a 600/4 would go for ~$2000 and ~$10000 each.
I doubt anyone would spend 10 grand for a 600mm with no pro service.

I am on the wishlist of "non-SDM 50-135" as well (or another upgraded version of SDM)

However, I am dreaming of the FA 31mm .... about 1K for a used one >__<

You want "extreme?" Well my definition of extreme is pretty extreme baby! And none of the selections in your poll are extreme. Since we are just dreaming, this is what I want:

I was more speaking about lenses that can realistically be made, but with a pricetage superior to 2000€/$.

The 50/1.2 had been produced by Pentax, and Canon had even faster. Super-tele are usually very expensive. Nikon has a 14-24/2.8 FF that is an exeptionnal lens (and FF) Canon have recently released 2 very good and wide tilt-shift (17mm and 24).

So of which lens would you dream about ?
The lens I suggested (9mm f/4) is not that unrealistic. It gives a FF equivalent of 14 mm. (also regard the 7-14 mm lens of the 4/3 mount - equivalent of a 14-28mm lens on a FF).

The lens I want is also not listed:
Dream-lens would be a 10-1000 f/1 with the size of the M 28 - IF and internal zoom, apochromatic, water- and fireproof. Focusrange from 20cm to 500m. Focsing feel like my K 1.4/50, focusing speed like nothing existing.
The whole package for $20.

Oh, and it should shoot laserbeams. Yeah, that's about it.

More realistic but not existing (yet): a 26mm f/1.4 or 1.7 with SDM (but with SDM/Screwdrive switch) and 1:3 macro - built like the SMC (K) series with the DA* features and fullframe-compability.

Closest match is the 31 ltd.

Sigh...

DA* WR 200mm f4 Macro

Why am I the first one to ask for a classic in a new barrel?
And if I have three wishes, the second would be a very wide, say 10mm rectilinear reasonably fast prime. A replacement for the A 15mm f3.5.
Third... hmm.. a good AF TC 2X

The "extreme" by definition is of limited utility and hence limited appeal and marketability.

The SMC Takumar 55/1.8. Loan me fifteen dollars and I'll buy another one. (Why is there the presumption that excellence must be both new and outrageously expensive?)

Hey, good point. Hmm...OK--since I didn't vote, yet--I pick Pentax weather sealed teleconverter. That shouldn't be too expensive--and the way I treat my equipment, the weather sealing would make sense for me.

What's hilarious (or sad...) is that you can get the 50-135mm without SDM, if you switch to Canikon!
Tokina 50-135mm
You give up weather-sealing and SMC coatings as well, though.
