too many lenses - help me choose

Okay, here's my dilemma:
I use Pentax for travel, lightweight, hiking etc., had Canon, now Nikon, professional, heavy bodies for sports, action, high-ISO etc.
I bought a whole lot of Pentax lenses to try them out, now I need to slim it down. Here's what I got:
DA*: 16-50mm, 50-135mm, 60-250mm, 55mm (selling already on ebay)
DA: 10-17 fisheye
DA Limited: 21mm (being repaired, stuck/hard to focus), 31mm, 40mm, 77mm

I'm not using all these lenses, and need to get focused. One one hand, I like the DA* zooms, because they're weather sealed, but they're also heavy. The Limiteds are light weight and cute
The 60-250 is a superb lens, but the 300mm is simply longer.

I need some constructive feedback, what would you do?

Well, to be perfectly honest, I'd keep those and buy more so I guess I'm no help.

So, get rid of the ones you don't use, you answered your own question in the first post.

Great set of lenses. I certainly wouldn't go on any big purge with that collection. I just don't "see" the DA* 55, so I would sell that one as you already are. Then I'd pick up one of the 50mm 1.7 lenses, which would be much cheaper than the DA* 55. Other than that, only you know if you could live without the DA 21, or the FA 31, or if you'd rather have the DA*300 over the DA* 60-250, etc.

Uh, your two options are the same: "sell Limiteds, Keep DA*s" and "keep DA*s, sell Limiteds" so it seems like you're answering your own question...

Keep the Limiteds and sell the 50-135mm, 60-250mm, 55mm and get a Sigma 100-300 f4 and that will cover what ever you need to shoot.

Yes - intentionally stacked questions?

If you want light weight backage and don't mind loosing the weather sealing:
- sell DA*16-50, 50-135 and 55
- keep DA*60-250 for medium to long tele
- keep your limited collection as it will cover the short end and low light
- (do you need the fisheye?)
OR
- just keep DA*16-50 and 60-250
- (+fisheye?)

AND
- sell me the rest with a 75% discount for the good tip.

If I understand this correct, you have a Nikon as well, and I assume you have some nice lenses to go with it. The k-7 would be the smaller travel package. So, I would narrow it down to the smaller lenses.

My suggestion is for the DA21, FA43......possibly the DA15 and the DA70 or even the FA77. This will give youy a small package that would be an ideal travel light package. If size doesn't matter, I will take the Nikon and those lenses.

So, the question should be which Nikon lenses should you get. Get those large lens equivalents in Nikon mount.

keep keep keep

I think I would keep all the weather sealed and a limited lens for catch-all.

how is the 10-17mm fish eye? compared to adding a fish eye adapter to another prime lens?

Buy the DA*300 I wouldn't sell any of them, except for the 55 maybe which is what you're doing.

Re: 10-17mm

I don't know how it compares to a fisheye adapter, never knew such existed
I love the lens otherwise, great versatility, and the distortion is anywhere from manageable to extreme, which gives nice creative freedomů

Your Nikon gear should be weather sealed. Might as well keep ur limiteds since Nikon doesn't offer anything similar.
