Enoeske: It happened both on the k200d and my k20d. Only wide open at f/2.8. Stopped down, it seems fine and by f/4 its quite sharp. f/5.6 to f/11 is very sharp. If you look at the image I posted above that was taken wide open and zoom in a bit, you can see what I am talking about.
I did not say I could not see what you are talking about; rather, I simply wanted to know on which camera the problem manifested itself. Bloom is more problematic on CCD sensors than on C-mos--that is why I asked the question. See, for example: http://vfm.dalsa.com/shared/content/Photonics_Spectra_CCDvsCMOS_Litwiller.pdf

As everyone already knows, it would be silly to pit these two classic lenses against one another. I surely love the portrait work my 90mm does, both indoors and out.

That depends on which of the shortcomings of the current lineup bother you more - the lack of macro, the lack of something fast in the 90mm range, or the lack of something fast in the 28-75mm range except for right at 35mm. If it were me, it would be the 90, easily, because it would be the only lens on the list that I'd be wanting to use much in my concert photography. I imagine most people would care more about the 28-75 range. But only you can answer that question for yourself - just look at the focal lengths you actually use with the lenses you have, and ask yourself where you think you could use f/2.8 - and also how important macro is to you. There is no way anyone can answer either of those questions for you.
