doesn't every one?

No, for mysterious reasons, the first generation K mount lenses got a 52mm filter thread, although a lot of them are rebadged SMC takumars (and these had 49mm as standard).
that is what I meant, the K series had a lot of different filter sizes, the M series were almost all 49mm especially the most popular / consumer lenses

Th 135/2.5 was never replaced by a M version, and dropped when the M series was dropped for the A series. Same for the 200/2.5
but we had the A 135 F1.8

like the M 28mm/2.8 , or the M 35mm/2.8 ?
yes we had 28mm F2 and 35mm F2 in the K series

Can you give examples of first generation K lenses which are optically much better than its SMC predecessor ?
yes, the 135 F2.5 in K series was a completely different beast, with different aperture as well, many of the optical formulas were adjusted between SMC tak and K mount, there are two notible exceptions the SMC 400F5.6 and SMC 500 F4,5 which are optically identical to the M42 lenses. the 300F4 is different than the SMC tak, Not su sure about the 85mm F1.8, but it is different than the super tak 85mm F1.9 for sure. I think the 105 F2.8 is the same, and this was dropped in favor of the SMC-M 100 F2.8,

It is really part new and part old, I think they kept the best and changed others.

The A series is in my view, the best line up of manual focus, but I can't afford the ones I would really want (50mm f1.5, 85mm F1.4, 135mm F1.8 and 300 F2.8

I think the K135/2.5, K28/3.5, K55/1.8, K85/1.8 are better. eventhough it seems that these are only rebadged SMC TAKs and we might say that their only obvious difference is only the mounting, I don't think that it is the reason why you pay more just for being a K-mount. even adding up an K-mount adapter would only cost you a bit of money and still find the "K" lenses cost more than the SMC TAKs.

I think there is still a bit of difference in optical design or most probably a different coating. somehow I do find the TAKs quite succesptible to flares or low contrast.

No, SMC takumars had 49mm as standard, the K series 52mm, and the M series again 49mm. And of course all series had other sizes for bigger lenses.
This standardization for 52mm in the K series affected even the 500mm and 1000mm lenses.

Not during the M period.

And also in the M series, but there was never a 28mm/2.8, or 35mm/2.8 before (3.5 versions yes)

The latest SMC Tak 135/2.5 is optical identical to the K mount version.
As are the 15mm/3.5, 17mm/4, 24mm/3.5, 35mm/3.5, 50mm/1.4, 50mm/4, 55mm/1.8, 85mm/1.8, 100mm/4, 105mm/2.8,120mm/2.8, 135mm/3.5, 150mm/4, 200mm/4, 400mm/5.6, 500mm/4.5, 1000mm/8.

I was talking about the latest SMC takumar generation.
