Yes something is fishy about the last three K55/1.8 reviews. All were done within a week of each other by new members. $400-$500 is on the high side even for a K50/1.2.

Phil.
I agree. Someone is attempting to skew values. I paid $45 for mine in "very good" condition this last summer. At the time I thought the price to be just a hair high since it did not include appropriate Pentax caps, but I have been very satisfied with the lens, otherwise.

LOL, better to have the appropriate lens with non-matching cap rather than have the appropriate cap with a different lens.

anyway, I forgot to mention that the increasing demand for the lens and growing scarcity of it would also result to a higher price tag in the market. although the $400 dollar price tag is just simply unbelievable. it maybe a great lens in it's own right, but it shouldn't cost more than it's faster counterparts (1.4 and 1.7 which are sold around $40-$70, and even $100) nor as much as the fast 1.2's.

can't believe that such lens is even more expensive than the autofocus 50/1.4,50/1.7 versions.

I would pay about $40 plus shipping but I didn't want chase it. just curious how different it is from 50 1.4.

Some may prefer the takumar versions for flexibility in case they switch over to canon?

I like it's overall rendering compared to the 1.4. a lot of owners have both lenses but the general concession seems to like the 1.8 better, even if it's a half-stop slower.

The high prices, as well as the $1 price, have all been remove as they indeed did look absurd
