What would be a fair price for M 28mm f2?

I'm talking about a mint Pentax M 28mm f/2, not the K 28mm f/2. Not much info about it--the last person who reviewed here on the forum mentioned s/he paid $379 for it. Is this price exaggerated?

Thank you!

no idea. but probably around $70-$100. I give it a bit of a boost due to it's aperture speed, but basing from the photos shown, it is nothing spectacular. it's not even better than the 28/3.5. although if you could test the lens before you sell it and have great results wide open, maybe you could price it for it's value or bargain.

anyways, from other review sites, it says to avoid getting the f2 versions which are non-K series lens. they say the resolution is disappointing.

Thank you.
Actually, I have one, and I was considering selling it. From my comparisons to the Sigma mini-wide II, it seems quite a bit sharper at f2.8, and it seems to me it beats Sigma even at f2 (compared to Sigma's f2.8). From 3.5, they look even. This lens' strength is its--I'd say, amazing--sharpness at f2-2.8. The sharpness at f2 is what surprises me most.
The only sharpness tests I could find (here and here) categorize it as one of the sharpest 28mm. Both tests even find it better than the K version (in terms of sharpness).
Anyway, if it's so cheap, there's no reason to sell it.

So if you want to part from it I'm ready. I've been looking for this lens for some time now but I've never seen one selling. As you can see I have the f/3.5 version which is great but simply too slow. A f/2 would be perfect if it offered the same contrast and sharpness.

The proposed $70-100 seem way too low to me. Even the SMC "K" 28mm f/3.5 sells for $80. I'd say $150+ sound realistic.

So if you still want to sell it: ME ME!!!111

I'd say around $150-200 is fair. Anything over $200 is really pushing it, and while some might pay that much for it, I doubt it would be defined as "fair".

Not sure whether I should sell it... The problem is for what I use my 28mm primes (this one and the Sigma mini-wide II) they are about the same, and for low light I'd like to have one with AF. Although... even if for landscapes I can't see much difference btw. them, the M 29mm f2 has, subjectively speaking, three advantages: a) much nicer (colder) colors; b) almost no light fall-off, in comparison to the Sigma; c) much better sharpness wide open. The first two are not extremely important to me, since I can make adjustments in PP (but with a time cost). (c) is what keeps me undecided, because I might use the lens with excellent results to shot subjects less than, say, 30 feet away in more or less difficult situations. Another thing is, clearly, that I'm not someone to get the full benefit of this lens--I lack the skills. I need a bit more time to see if I can learn to use it.
I'll think more about it and if I decide to sell it I'll post it in the market section. Thank you all!

Thank you, Eggsalad, but I think I'll pass on your offer.
