55mm autofocus lens for Pentax? Third party maybe?

Pentax doesn't offer a 55mm autofocus lens at this time.

Does anybody know a third party 55mm autofocus lens I could use on my K100?

Thanks!

There is a DA55 on the roadmap and I believe it would be marketed as a portrait lens. When? I don't know. But if you need it now and don't mind MF, look for an used Pentax K55/2/1.8.

So Tamon & Co do not produce for Pentax...

I have heard about the new 55mm lens, but I REALLY NEED IT NOW.

Oh... What is it you can do with a 55mm lens that you can't do with a 50mm lens?

The difference between 50 and 55 is not very huge, is it?

I mean, I look forward to the DA*55/1.4, a lot in fact. My DA70 was too long and now I do well with an old SMC Takumar 50/1.4 while waiting for the new star (I just hope it is a new design that really performs).

What about 50mm? B&H has both the FA50mm f1.4 and the DFA50mm f2.8 macro in stock. They also have the 43 limited.
for Pentax - Lenses & Accessories

They all have rebates also.

Scratching my head on this one too.... Just buy the excellent FA 50mm f/1.4. If you REALLY need the FOV that 55mm would give you, just crop a bit afterwards.

Have to concur with the previous posts,

the difference in diagonal viewing angle between a 50mm and a 55mm is but a mere 2°.

Don't think I would even notice the difference.

Lol, yes, you are right. I also see I already replied in the first thread. This gets a bit... eh, let's say repeating.
