There are a few Pentax-F SMC 50:1.7's on ebay.com at present.

One auction, ending in 3hrs, is currently at $138. These are well regarded auto-focus lenses.

How are they compared to FA 50 1.4 ?

A bit sharper at F/1.7-2.4, then it evens up. A bit different bokeh (you can sometimes see hexagons in highlighs, but nothing serious)..but smooth.

Of course, by giving everyone that nice heads up you've probably kept someone from an ebay bargain.

I'd snatch it up myself if I didn't already have an FA50 1.7!

Seems like I've made a good deal with SF-X + F 1.7/50 for 70€.

I've had the A series version before and there is no noticeable difference - optically.
