"A" pin for lens mount -- replacements?

I apparently lost the contact plate metal for the "A" contact during my lens surgery; could anyone suggest a replacement source? I don't have any broken down lens with me

Thanks much!

My understanding is that the contact may not be the same for every lens. I few years ago my A50/1.2 lost it's A contact and Pentax Canada told me that the part was no longer available, even though the lens was still listed and available as new. Some internal mechanical change to the lens was the problem.
After i lambasted them for trying to sell me a 43/1.9 as a replacement (if I had wanted an F/2 lens, I have plenty of them) they eventually decided that maybe they could order the parts from japan.
It was rather a nightmare though.

depending on the lens, you might find a used one somewhere you can rob the part from faster and cheaper.

The A 50mm f2.0? if that's indeed the lens, not worth worrying about. They are cheap and plentiful. Get a new on on Ebay for $40 or so. In fact I have one here you could have for about $25.00 (depending on where you are). It has a badly dented filter ring but is otherwise fine. You could take the parts of that to fix yours if you like.

Thanks for the offer -- I'm on the other side though. This "advertised-as-working" lens came off ebay. Trying to salvage it without having to spend money on this again!

Buy another one. It isn't worth the effort of fixing.

Wheatfeild is right and you should send the lens back for a refund if it doesn't work and is in the same condition as it was sold. But I think it isn't. You in the UK?
