hypothetically for the same price, which would you buy?

In a hypothetical situation, if they were all offered at the same price and you only want to spend for one, which would you buy ?

1. SMCP K 200mm / f2.5
2. SMCP A 50mm / f1.2
3. FA 35mm / f2
4. DA 10-17mm F3.5-4.5ED Fisheye

#3 and #4 are new, the others are obviously used.

Thanks.

Im using an old Nikkor 35mm F2 for my K-x. it doesnt fit snug of course, so i would be happy to have a native pentax lens.

i find 35mm very useful and versatile, especially at F2. nice lens for video also!

50 1.2 looks good on paper, but wide open it gives super shallow DOF, and most F1.8-F2 versions seems to be sharper/smaller/lighter/cheaper. also, your sig also says you've already got a 50 1.4.

200mm F2.5 would be extremely nice especially for concert photography. but thats if you're shooting a lot of concerts.

fisheye, well it's a matter of personal preference

I would go with the FA 35, but that is just because I use that focal length a lot more. I have tried manual focusing with a f1.4 lens and it is tough enough, doubt I could do it with an f1.2 lens.

I like A lenses, otherwise I might have picked the 200mm lens.

The FA35 is one of my workhorse lenses, so the choice is easy.

Regarding the A50/1.2 ... Yes, it is an excellent lens, but for me, the 1.7 version is plenty fast and has excellent IQ, that I cannot even unleash always.
Frankly, even with the A50/1.7, the best portraits happen at 2.8, at which point it is as sharp as the A50/1.2.

if it were me,

I would take the 200F2.5, mainly because it is the perfect fit between my 135F2.5 and 300F4 and because I do like long fast tele's, but that is me.

I can also see a use for the FA 35F2, because I only have an SMC Tak 35F2.

for me, I might opt foe a different fisheye, because I have a sigma 10-20, and like many here I have a 50mm F1.4 and the 1.2 although interesting I think might be more of a novelty.

that is what I would do and consider, with my kit.

you need to lookat the best fit for your kit. If all you have is what is in your signature, I would probably go for either the 200 or the fisheye.

since you already have a 50 and the 40, the 200 is the obvious choice - for me: I don't like fish.

I would get the A 50/1.2, since it's worth the most out of the lenses you mentioned. I would then sell it and get the lens I really want at the normal market price.

I voted based on my existing line up I have.
So I don't do long lenses, I have 31ltd and don't really do fisheye either. A50/1.2 would be rather nice portrait lens IMO.

Yupp, the same with me. And I just got my K 200/2.5 and it seems to be a very useable lens. But quite as Lowell, I just love longer, fast lenses. But the fisheye zoom is also an attractive proposition.

I thought the FA35 2.0 was discontinued? Regardless, if both were the same price, get the A 50/1.2 if you're value oriented and the FA 35/2 if you have the 50mm range well covered.

I picked the K200 because I already have the A 50. Oh wait, I already have the Tammy 180mm f2.5 with pka so maybe I would go the the 10-17mm. (I already have the DA 35mm and would be less likely to pay that for the FA)

There are plenty of the FA 35mm on the shelf if you have the coin. However, 2 of the others have been out of production for a long time so that is really a moot argument.

I chose the FE.

I shoot mostly tele, so the 200 is attractive, but I have an A*200/2.8, an SP 180/2.5, and a newly acquired EX 180/3.5 Macro. . .
The 50/1.2 has little attraction for me, except for bragging rights. . .
The FA 35/2 is tempting, but I wouldn't shoot it much. . .
The DA 10-17 is just too much fun to pass -- especially for a tele shooter. . . but I've got to be really careful to keep my feet out of the frame -- and to not walk while looking through the VF --
