the next da ltd

The Pentax ltd series is getting to be pretty complete. I was wondering what, if any, focal lengths people miss in this series. I can't really think of anything that they could add to the ltd series. I expect that anything longer than the 70mm will be to big to fitt into the ltd series. Personally I would like to se a 50mm ltd.

Seeing as the relatively new 100mm macro is built as it is does make me wonder why they didn't slap the ltd label on it. Looks like it fits quite well into the category.

There's already a DA* 55mm and Pentax short prime is getting crowded. I think Pentax needs a prime in between 100-200mm.

A super compact 135/4 or 150/4 that is razor-sharp wide-open with LTD build would be fantastic...

They need a fast standard.
And they need a 105, and a 150.
They have the DA40, which is close enough to a 50 that it doesn't matter, and they have the 55/1.4, so that base is pretty well surrounded.

I just want the 30mm 1.4 we were promised. Although I expect it will be a DA* rather than a Ltd.

I too would like to see something like this, but maybe even a bit shorter and faster. 120/3.3 for example. If they could get that down to about the size of the M100/2.8, that would be just about a perfect lens for me.

A DA* with SDM, no doubt. But there's nothing wrong with SDM, right? It's all in our imagination...

I have a 150 mm f3,5 (M lens) and have used a 135 mm f2,8, and can vouch for those focal lengths. A reasonably fast prime in this range is missing.

An anything that is a fast standard. SDM or screw drive is unimportant.
I expect that they'll get SDM reliable eventually.

Maybe that's the holdup, tweaking the SDM system.

I'd love a 135mm f/2.8 or 150mm f/4 DA Limited.

I don't think they'd necessarily need to be that big with those apertures; the F 135 2.8 isn't really huge, and the Sears 135 2.8 is actually pretty small. The Tak 150 f/4 I used to own was pretty small, too.

A Limited series prime I'd love to see is a 28mm f/2. Equivalent to 42mm is a favorite of mine.

Also I am a big fan of Limiteds (as you can see ) I think for Pentax its number one priority to tweak the f****** slow and breakfriendly SDM. Yesterday a very good friend of mine sold his K7, DA*16-50, DA*50-135, DA* 60-250, DA*55 and DA 100 Makro WR. He was tired to loose the speed game against the Canon boys in the sporting halls. He ordered a Canon 7D with all the L lenses.

So pleeeeeeeeeeeease Pentax build ring USM (SDM)!!

I dont need that. But I think we all loose a lot of Pentax friends. Think about all the money Pentax misses because a lot of people buy Sigma and Tamron 70-200 2.8.

To be not too offtopic, a Limited zoom lens would be nice. A 24-90 2.8 for example, or a 100-300 4.0.
