The A 28mm didn't get used, but the 18-250 was a necessity. When I wasn't specifically out for photos, I carried the K-x with 18-250 mounted and FA 35mm in the bag. That's the closest thing I've found to a single answer. With the distortion and CA correction in the K-x and the little boost in saturation, contrast and sharpness provided by Bright Mode, the 18-250 has nothing to be ashamed of.

It's hard to plan for a trip like this because you don't know exactly what you'll find. The hikes in the desert and mountains turned out to be devoid of photographable wildlife. The birds were too far away and the only mammal I saw was the ass end of a desert cottontail as it bolted. The best lenses for the hikes were the fisheye and 16-45, but the 16-45 was my favourite due to the CPL and because it gave a better sense of the grandeur of the scene. The 10-17 was nicely unique but such a wide fov changes the perspective a lot.
