wide angle question

hi guys,
I have one question. At the moment I'm using 18-55 kit lens for my wide angle shots, for longer shots I have upgraded to Tamron 28-200 and 70-300, and I have old manual Hoya 135 (though I'm not using it a lot). Anyway, I like landscapes and I would like to get some decent wide angle lens, I was thinking about SMC DA 16-45 but is 2mm such a great difference??? Does anybody have pictures of the same scene at 16 and 18mm? Or the same scene from 18mm down to 10mm let's say? So I just can compare the difference. Thanx for replies,
Axl

I've upgraded my kitlens to the 16-45 and I can say it's a very good upgrade. Sharpness/contrast are great with it. It has some downsides tho:

-Beware tho that the barrel extends towards wide and onboard flash does not work under 28mm approx. You might want to buy an offboard flash
-There is quite heavy CA if you pixelpeep however this can be easily removed by most programs.

The 16mm differs quite a bit from 18mm, however you won't notice on the lens itself.. It seems to differ not soo much but then again you just love the little bit extra wide if you do need it on occasion. Landscapes and architecture is where this lens shines.

Or you could opt to keep your kitlens and upgrade a 12-24 or 10-17 to go along with it. Since you got zoom range covered anyway and your kitlens is only 'bad' at 18mm wide open For the price however, the 16-45 gives you an excellent performance.

I'm very rarely using kit lens wide open, usually it's stopped down to around f16, thanks for suggestions, but 12-24 costs around 600 pounds and 10-17 is fisheye, isn't it? So not very ideal for landscapes, I was really thinking about 16-45 and Sigma 10-20, but I would be glad to see comparison test shots of the same scene at 18mm, 16mm and 10mm...
Thanks anyway

oh,
one more thing, since I have Tamron 28-200 which I consider to be really good, is there anything wide angly without much overlaping or leaving gap?? So let's say 15-30 +/-
I've personaly never heard about anything like that, but maybe any of you did
Tanks

Well you have the zenitar 16mm if you want a cheap option. not a bad lens if you stop it down like you say you do.
