old lenses on a K200D

My father dug up his old Pentax lenses for me:

A Super-Takumar 1:1.4 / 50

A Fish-Eye-Takumar 1:11 / 18

A Super-Takumar 1:3.5 / 135 1:4 / 150 1:5.6 / 200

I don't know what they're really good for but I'd like to try them out on my K200D. What kind of adapter do I need?

And is there anything I should watch out for when using them?

First tell Dad Thanks alot!
Next order a M42- K mount adapter from Pentax.
Then check out a bunch of the threads here about using M42's , the green button and the Takumar Club thread.
When your adaptor arives you'l be ready to have big fun.
BTW if you decide you don't like these lenses and want to sell them , please send me a PM.

Oh, I've already done that -- thanking Dad that is.

I should do some research and find out how much they're valued at now. I was kind of hoping that someone here could steer me in the right direction.

And I'll order the M42-K mount after dinner tonight.

You are lucky indeed. That 18mm Fish-Eye-Takumar looks really cool.

You can get an adapter from ebay for dirt cheap, but you may have troubles focusing to infinity.

That is exactly the device you need, yes. You have a nice set of lenses there. Read the manual lens operation sticky thread at the top of the beginners' forum, and you will be good to go. Many of those older lenses are really nice to work with. Yes, they are manual focus, but they are easy to focus with a little practice. Enjoy your windfall!

Thanks for confirming that.

I have a Pentax 1:1.7 50mm from my Pentax ME super days that I use a lot now and really prefer over the kit lens when I can get away with it.

It will be interesting to see how the older lenses look in comparison.

I've recently received a Takumar SMC 55/1.8 as a gift, and bought the Pentax brand adaptor to use with it. I've yet to try it out, but I will. I am expecting it to be as good optically as the SMC Pentax 55/1.8 I used for quite a while on a film KX.
