Pentax lens in cold weather.

Dose anyone sometimes have trouble with the auto-focus ring on cold days?

Define cold. I use my cameras down to ~-30ºC with no problems.

Only when they are wet and my hands freeze to them! The only trouble I have ever had with cold was way back when, in a Piper Cub, unheated. My cloth shutters froze together at about -35 F. The lens focused just fine. It stopped down freely - but it was a preset lens so that was a foregone conclusion.

Well, only been down to -5C, the only problem is my, not the gear.
Get some gloves, thin ones still work wonders (as long as they cut wind shill) and you're fine.

Coldest I've been out and about shooting is about -5F (not very long though... it's pretty damn cold) and dont remember any AF issues.

This winter I went out shooting when the temperature was around 10-15 F, however, the wind chill had to be below zero and my lens worked perfectly. However, when you come home make sure that you leave the lens in bag for a few hours so that it warms up slowly and condesation doesn't form on the inside of the lens.

Yes, problem to myself, especially the fingers when wet and cold.
My experience is down to -2 degree Celcius. My advice is to get some good thermal gloves, thin ones will work fine.

Cheers.
