pentax 67 lens on k mount?

I am hunting a few lenses that are pentax 67 400mm f4.0 EDIF and have been searching for the adaptor ring for this lens

I wonder if the lens would require manual metering and autofocusing?

Thanks in advance for advice

IF! you can find the adapter.. IF! you will have to use it like a M42 lens, stopped down and metering in Av mode. it also will not AF. this is exactly how i have to use my 500mm f4.5 K lens. if you do find the adapter let me know as i want one also. the pentax 400mm f4 is a HUGE lens. saw one FS here not too long ago. i have seen 2 of the adapters on eekbay before. sold 100-150usd.

Thanks Roy. I am waiting for a reply regarding A*300 lens. If no sale, I would have to chase down this piece of work. It is alright to manual focus - more fun in photography. But i would prefer automatic exposure though.

I would hate to miss a lot of wildlife shots when locating these little agile birds is always a difficult task to do already

the thing about AF is how many do you lose waiting for the AF to hit.
i put the camera down for about 20years. i missed the whole AF era so manual is ok with me. i do love the A setting tho. i've got a pretty beat up A*300 that still takes great sharp shots as long as i stay at f4-8. it's a tough lens to use due to the front elements lack of balance. i'm getting use to it. it's damaged but i only spent $80 on it. what i need is a new front lens if you know someone with a basket case..

I am waiting for reply regarding A*300 f2.8m lens. I know it is heavy and older version - 3.2 kg or something

but i love the bokeh from these big guns wide open

Roy, sounds like you and I went through the same routine. The hardest thing for me when I got my DS, was using AF. Everything else about the camera was totally intuitive.

FYI, I picked up an A*300 f4.0, and love it. Small and light, very hand holdable. Works really well with my F 1.7 AF TC also.

i'll bet you paid more than $81usd for it. mine looks and feels like someone dropped a brick on the objective lens. as long as i stay at f8 and under it shoots great.

here's an f8 shot with it.

as you can see, it's still a good image producing lens..

Found the adaptor on ebay

Yeah, I found the adaptor for 6 7 lenses.

eBay Australia: OFFICIAL Pentax Adaptor K for 645 Lenses from Japan (item 300019762058, end time 19-Dec-06 08:23:11 AEDST)

It costs a bit actually...

Thanks Roy for the post. I saw your pelican photos from your amazing takumar lens in the post a pic section. Great colour and sharp images.

I just ordered A* 300 f2.8 arriving next week. Will test it out as well.

But, what about quality of 67 lenses over digital APS sized cameras?

I am, too, hunting for a 67 400mm, and would like to know if it would work well with digital as it would with a 35 mm film camera. Or the bigger crop would undermine the resulting sharpness?

wow,
you're right, it is expensive. the 2 on ebay here went for less but not much..

picture quality does not suffer using the larger format lenses. probably be even better.. larger sweet spot.
