My kit contains the SMCP-DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens
Sigma 28-84 f3.5-4.5, most likely to be replaced with a Sigma 28-70mm F2.8-4 DG soon
SMC Pentax-M 50mm F2
Tokina 70-200 f4.5-5.6
Sigma 75-300 f4.5-5.6 APO
Sigma 135-400 f4.5-5.6
and although I rarely use it a Phoenix 500mm f:8

I have a smc P-DA Fish-Eye 10-17mm F3.5-4.5, and probably a used Macro lens on my shopping list. I need a few more bucks first

A 16-50 f2.8 for walk around could be nice, but thats more of a luxury since its not really needed, apart from that, the only zoom lens I think I would need is the 10-17 fish eye. And then the following prime setup:
da 14
da 21
fa 35
fa 43
fa 50
fa 77
fa 100
and topped with a quality prime in the 180-200mm range with some good tc's for when u need some extra reach.

Chekc my sig. I think it's pretty much up to date.

The ones I want to get to complete my package (for now).
Tamron 28-75mm 2.8
Tamron 75-300mm or Sigma 70-300mm.
Pentax 50mm 1.4

Maybe later get a ultra wide zoom for landscape and a true macro lens. I need to get more M42 adapters for all my M42 lenses.

Your Ideal Lens Kit

Probably not ideal, but my present kit consists of (in addition to the 18-55 kit lens) the Sigma 10-20mm 4-5.6, the Sigma 17-70 2.8-4.5, and the Sigma APO DG 70-300 lens. I'm covered from 10 to-300mm for about a thousand bucks. I'm thinking seriously of purchasing the Sigma 30mm f1.4 for low light conditions, and then perhaps one of the 100mm macros. As I said before, probably not ideal, but certainly functional, and after all, it's just a hobby.

Hmm... if someone handed me a couple of thousand right now, I would probably go and buy a bunch of pentax stuff. Something like this kit:

Sigma 10-20
Pentax 16-45 f4 (plain old walk around lens)
Tamron 28-75 f2.8 (for low light events stuff)
Sigma 70-200 f2.8 (Find one second hand somewhere)
Pentax 50mm f1.4

And then probably hang out for the DA* 300mm f4 and a 1.4x tele-converter

Now, does pentax want to sponsor a young photographer with high hopes of shooting weddings and the odd bit of motor sport on the side?
