Anybody used D-FA 50mm f/2.8 Macro?

It seems nice, however the price is a little bit higher.

Anyway 50mm with Macro is attractive.

Yes, I use it. It was my first Pentax macro. After awhile I also got the D FA 100macro. I wanted more stand off distance than I was feeling I got with the 50mm. However, I've since learned that the depth of field is better with the 50 over the 100 so...I have both and use them from time to time. If I had to get one over the other, I think I'd go for the 100mm first but actually they aren't that much different.

Yes, I've got the D FA 50mm macro... lovely lens.

This macro is outstanding for work where your subject won't crawl/fly off due to being too close ... for that get the 100mm macro. But the quality of the macro is outstanding and for general use the color rendition and IQ is very high and may be as good as any "fast fifty."

If you were looking for a lens that could do macro and double as a walk around lens, I would suggest considering the DA 35mm Macro. Really very nice and it's wider view works better for candids and such.

Regards,

germar

I almost decided to get a DA 35, however this lens does not support full frame. Though Pentax hasn't released any body for full frame, I still wanna that all my lens could be useful in future. BTW, I really love DA35 this lens.
