Very useful thread. Thanks for starting it, Krypticide.

Might have missed them, but I don't see any photos showing the bokeh of the PENTAX-DA 18-55mm 3.5-5.6 AL II. Here are some examples:

f/4, 1/6s, 32.5mm, ISO 100

f/8, 1/30s, 55mm, ISO 400

f/5.6, 1/90s, 55mm, ISO 100

And here are some examples of the bokeh from a PENTAX-DA 50-200mm F4-5.6 ED...

f/5.6, 1/200s, 200mm, ISO 100

f/4.5, 1/1000s, 73mm, ISO 200

f/5.6, 1/250s, 200mm, ISO 100

f/8, 1/180s, 200mm, ISO 100

f/32, 1/45s, 200mm, ISO 100

Thanks, "Avatar" is off by one - it's just the botanical garden of the University of Zürich.

julia, nice portrait and bokeh, except for the reflections on the glasses and the position of the top of the head, exactly matching the top of dark "bokehed" part in the back.

The DFA WR does a good job.

Pentax M 85mm @ F/2 (wideopen)

Pentax M 50mm F/1.7 @ F/2

Pentax M 200mm @ F/4 (wideopen)

Pentax DA 18-55mm ALII @ F/8

and last but not least my Sigma 105mm macro @ F/2.8 (wideopen) in a non-macro situation.

This lens has the smoothest bokeh around when taking macro's

Here's the FA 100-300mm f/4.7-5.8. I quite like the bokeh on this zoom. I quite like this zoom - much more than the DA 50-200mm somehow It's got lovely colors and is reasonably crisp if you use it under conditions it enjoys :P

This shot is 100mm f/8 1/160th:

300mm f/5.6 1/400th (slight glow effect in PP):

300mm f/8 1/160th:

It's crazy how cheap this lens is - probably mostly because it's silver and plastic-y. I think it's pretty fab for what it can do Of course now I want a teleconverter that works with it.....
