I recall reading somewhere that you are not happy with the results from your sigma 70-200 lens. What's bothering you about its bokeh? Is there any other issues with it?

thanks, i'm quite interested in one of those lenses but glad I read this.
For a time I was considering swapping it for the DA* 50-135mm for weight and weather-sealing consideration, but that urge has died down.

The main issues with the lens I'd say is the weight (but this is a given for 70-200mm lenses) and that it's a bit soft and lacking contrast wide open. At f/4.0 is is VERY sharp.

Funny, I looked through all my 70-200mm shots and couldn't find an image where the bokeh was just killing me. Here's one where I think it's not great, but not bad either. The girl helps though. ;-)

This is an Osawa 70-210mm f4-5 lens. It has excellent bokeh. I have not shot a lot with it yet, so nothing special to display other than its fine bokeh from some test shots I recently did.

At 210mm, ISO 400, 1/100, f 6.3 or F 8--can't be sure:

Interesting, not a fan of the 85mm F1.4 bokeh, at least in those shots.

Here's one I like, from the DA* 16-50mm F2.8, at f/2.8 (interesting that the colors look off in Firefox but look fine in Lightroom):

Some wonderful examples of bokeh (good and bad). I'm surprised nobody has posted any examples of the Tokina AT-X 90 mm macro - my only yummy bokeh lens. I've posted other photos elsewhere, so here are some more - the first is with flash, so it may be stopped down a little. The second is without flash, probably wide open. I'm too unorganized to take notes! The last one is for contrast - it's with the Zenitar 16 mm FE, no idea what aperture. I actually quite like its bokeh.

FA 35mm

Not exactly known for great bokeh, but I think the FA 35mm doesn't always have bad bokeh.

FA 35mm @ f/2.5
