I have just placed order for K50/1.2
Should be with me on monday....geeeeeeeeeez, that's whole 3-4 days (depends how you count and when it'll arrive) but I caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan't wait to play with that one
I love our A/1.2. There's just such a range of unique artsy things you can do with it.

It was my primary pick as it comes closest to 'normal' on APSc and is therefore more universal; it's also the widest which can give it an edge. Even on a film a body, it would be my first choice in your scenario.

2. Helios-44M

Interesting that you would give up the FA 50mm f1.7 in your sig line to keep 2 copies of the Russian lens in the scenario. One of them and the FA I could understand.

I really think the DA40 f/2.8 should be included. It's the most 'normal' lens of the group on APS-C. Also, only 3mm difference from the FA43 f/1.9.

at 50mm +- 10mm the number of lenses just exploded, and I'm really trying to get a picture of 50mm(ish) lenses.

I'll give up my FA50/1.7 for the FA50/2.8. they are equally rare but since I have the A50/1.2, it would be ideal to pick the macro sharpness at f2.8.

But would you trade that FA 50mm f1.7 for one of the Russian lenses?

Why specifically 50s ? Why not lenses in the range between 24 and 35 or between 105 and 135?

And if you really want to limit, between 1000mm and 1200mm or so

To be honest, the 50mm range on digital isn't something that I use all that often, and I use the Helios(es) way more often than the FA50/1.7.

First, obviously. It's simply the best lens in rendering and the best lens in fit and feel. Here's a random photo I processed today. I have posted hundreds of others.
