3 Cosina PK Lenses - Any good?

1 cosinon auto MC f=1.7 50 mm no.799248 PK/A Mount
1 cosinon Auto MC F=2,8 28mm No. 785198 PK/A Mount
1 cosinon Auto MC F=2,8 135mm No.785736 PK/A Mount

Seller have no clue what this is. they are asking £60 for the lot.

Are they any good do you think - Assuming they are mint condition of course?

Have posted as well in an ongoing thread under other topic - Just wanted to get a quick reply - before they are gone

I can't speak for the other lens except for the 28mm f2.8, I have the similar one MC 28mm f2.0, it is a gem (the optics are great). I am also not sure about the price over there in general - probably a good deal if they are all in prestine condition. Again, it is based on my limited experience and humble opinion. You should seek advice from someone locally in your area.

I have cosina cosinon 24mm f/2.8, 50mm f/2 and 200mm f/4. They are well built (all metal and glass) and apart from the 200mm are quite sharp wide open. They all improve stopped down.
£60 for 3 seems fairly reasonable if they are in good condition. Look out for oily aperture blades, all of mine had this problem when I got them but they were all very cheap because of it and were quite easy to fix.

I had a Cosina 28/2.8 that my grandmother gave me. It was an awesome lens. Alas it was stolen. That one's not mine is it?

I think the digits preceeding the info 78xxxxx is the serial number - But unless you are the victim of an international crime syndicate shipping the loot across the Atlanic to little teenietiny Denmark, selling it off under the nickname KirstenBlackSmith, I think you are out of luck : )

Was it PK mount or m42?

Thanks,

for your replies...

I read the test results, but they are for the m42 series 35mm. The ones I'm buying are PK/A, I just realized Cosina co ventures with Voigtlander on the Nokton. I think the only indication is in comparing same series, and then only if there is a problem with "all" of them....

I just get so many hits on google and often no info on the mount. Cosina were busy as bees back then...

I think I'll try them : ) I definitely will try them : )

I have a couple of 28mm f2.8 PK/A lenses made by Cosina, branded Image and Kalimar. I used parts from the Kalimar to repair the Image; it's useably sharp wide open, at f5.6 it's slightly sharper than my 16-45 (f5.6 is 16-45's maximum sharpness). Good colours, nice bokeh, very prone to flare, solid metal constuction, good MF feel. Exposure is perfect at f2.8, at smaller apertures it overexposes about 2/3 of a stop (tested on K100DS, K20D and K-x), but not hard to compensate because it's consistent. I think £60 is a steal for these three lenses, but be aware that you may have to cut off the large flange and remove the Ricoh pin.

Here are some photos of my lenses and some samples taken with the Image: Picasa Web Albums - Dan - 28mm lenses
I'd be interested to know if your 28mm looks the same and how it performs.

I bought them -

Now I Ým waiting. Think I'll get them tomorrow.
I'll post pics from them - Also got the split image focus screen from jinfinance.
Isn't it kind of strange that there is so little info on these lenses out there. Mine are PK/A, you guys have PK and there are m42 too - 3 different mounts that should mean a lot of lenses out there - and there are Cosina and Cosinon.

Also got a Cosina CS-2, some kind of flash and a bag - It's like Xmas

I have a Cosina 28mm 2.8 PKA bought for 25 euros two weeks ago (the lens was new in its box). Sincerely I thought that it was better , it is not as sharp as I thought (the 50mm 1.7A is a LOT better) and it overexposes a lot too with the K-X. It has a good focal length for general purpose but it is not a so good improvement from the kit lens. Maybe I'll give it a second chance but at the moment I'm a little disappointed.
