Anyone bought the Sigma 4.5mm fisheye yet?

I dug through the forums to see if anyone had picked up one of these for their Pentax yet, but couldn't find anything. Does anyone have sample photos of this lens on a Pentax dslr?

I've seen plenty of samples, but I want to see some samples off the Pentax aps-c sensor. Has anyone picked one of these up that can comment?

I had a chance to check one out in person and I am a big fan of fisheyes. For the money, I was not a big fan of the Sigma 4.5mm lens. It is a circular fisheye which covers 180 degree field of view in every direction which is kinda neat but I don't think anyone would ever need that FOV very often, especially with that much distortion. For 1/3 the price, one could buy the Pentax DA 10-17mm fisheye or Samyang 8mm fisheye... both of which fill the frame on a APS-C DSLR. The Sigma 4.5 only fills about 1/3 of the frame with a fully circular image. The flare, CA, and PF were all over every image and pretty much unavoidable. I have a $70 0.18x fisheye adapter (made by Zeikos) that when attached to the Pentax DA-L 18-55mm kit lens produced (in my opinion) as good or better circular fisheye images than the Sigma 4.5mm with a very comparable field of view.

I think the only reason anyone would seriously consider spending $1000 on this lens is if you were producing those 360 degree virtual reality stiched photos which you could do with 2 shots through this lens. Other than that, I think one would find the DA 10-17mm or Samyang 8mm. The Sigma 10mm f2.8 fisheye is another fisheye that will fill the frame of any Pentax DSLR. Maybe it is just me, but I think the full frame fisheye photos are a LOT more striking than a circular image in the middle of a blank frame.

That's just the point with this lens though. we can already use a diagonal fisheye to produce fisheye photos but this lens creates a totally unique look with the glass orb effect of a circular fisheye than we have access to with any other lens.

as this lens is APS only, no matter the picture are from, you'll always get the same look.
