Anyone purchase from Cameta on E-Bay?

I have decided to purchase the Sigma 10-20mm EX DC lens to use on my K10D. Cameta Camera has this lens for sale on Ebay at a competetive price. I was wondering if anyone in the group has purchased anything from them, and if they were satisfied with their experience. Thanks for your response.

Haven't bought from them. If you go to you will find many, many Olympus people that have. Cameta seems to always have incredible Olympus closeouts. Can't remember ever hearing anyone unhappy ordering from them. They must have 99% + approval rating. Hope this helps.

I purchased a lens from them earlier this week and it shipped out the next day. It wasn't purchased directly from them but through Amazon's site. I think Cametta's Amazon price was cheaper than their ebay price.

I bought my K10D along with 2 lenses, battery grip, 4GB memory stick, extra battery, etc.. from Cameta. I received it 5 days after placing the order, it doesn't sound special but I'm currently deployed to Iraq and everything usually takes at least a week after shipping. I was very happy with them and usually look to them first when I want to buy something, if they dont have it I will buy from B&H.

I bought a 500mm lens through them and was very pleased with the service.

They had forgotten to send me the rear lens cap, and I didn't care because I still got the lens at a more than fair price, then about a week later the lens cap shows up in the mail.

How many companies would take the time to do that

I'll probably buy a macro through them soon as well

I had to cancel a purchase already committed but not yet paid. Surprisingly Cameta was very courteous in its reply. Full marks to Cameta on this aspect of dealing with (potential) customers.

I have purchased two lenses from them in the past, excellent service and shipping, with full tracking enabled. I would recommend them for sure.

I've purchased many lenses from Cameta both new and used I can honestly say I have enjoyed their service and their courtesy. Great people to work with. My contact there is Ed and he has always been a great help. This is one online store you can count on to get it right. (They also have a brick and mortar store in Amityville New York)

Same here, dealt with Ed on more than one occasion, lenses from their ebay store and K10D was the phone order from them (while everyone else were sold out).

Nothing but very pleasant and courtious customer service experience, on time shipment and tracking #'s.

Many thanks for all your replies. I've ordered the Sigma 10-20 from Cameta, and as one of the posters pointed out, it was cheaper (by $5) through Amazon than through E-Bay.

I bought my BG2 and 2 extra batteries for $162 on Amazon through Cameta. Other than the batteries having the Minolta name but being the same as used in the Pentax. I am fully satisfied with that purchase. Arrived on time, packed well.

Cameta Camera is a very good seller. I've been doing business with them since as early as mid-2003, when I got my first ever camera, right upto recent days (my Sigma 70-200 is from Cameta); Fast shipping, good prices, polite people to deal with, and above all, honest.

Thanks for the replies. Gives me more confidence to consider them when buying stuff. As of yet, the only place I've bought from online is KEH, and they gave me hassle-free service. I should try Cameta sometime.
