I stated previously an assumption, based upon my experiences with lenses, it if is wrong, tell us what you are considering, and specificly what distortion?

there is no real definitive answer. as for CA or distortion correction, it depends on the scene conditions, software used and skill in doing corrections during post-processing. these are problems that are displayed by some lenses by which you need to live and compensate with.

eitherwise, buy some lenses which only display an unnoticeable and irrelevant degree of distortion and CA in normal conditions. but still CA would still be imminent and unavoidable especially in really extreme scenarios.
