Are there two Sigma 10-20mm lenses?

I was going to buy the Sigma 10-20 f/4-5.6, but I saw one ebay posting for a sigma 10-20 f/3.5. I have two questions:

1) Does this lens exist?

2) Is it really fixed...

Ok I can google for that... but has anyone used both? Are they similar? (If anyone points out that they have different f stops... thanks... I got that!)

There is a $200 price difference... seems like a lot for a half stop of light.

The lens exists. The f/3.5 is the newer version from Sigma. If by 'fixed' you mean is it constant maximum f/3.5 throughout, it is. That means it's quite a bit faster at 20mm especially.

Whether it's better or not is really debatable, it's relatively new so there haven't been a heap of reviews. I think it's generally considered a small optical improvement on the already quite well considered slower version. Both of them at f/8 are going to be almost identical I'd say. But the faster version would probably be considered better at faster apertures, where it might be stopped down whereas the old version is wide open.

Yes, there're 2 versions - F4-5.6 (old) and F3.5 (new).

Apart from that, there're difference between the filter size diameter - the old one is 77mm and the new one is 82mm (bigger).

You may need to consider that as well since 82mm filter is much more expensive.

would you want to put a filter on it? Seems like a filter could add flare to such a wide view...

That's always a possibility. I certainly wouldn't use a cheap filter on it.
I wouldn't say the 82mm filters are a lot more expensive than a 77mm. I think the bigger issue is that more lenses have 77mm filters. A 82mm->77mm adapter ring can be cheaper than buying more filters.

I would be surprised if you didn't have some serious vignetting at wide angles then. However it might not look too bad on most shots.

Oh I mean the other way round, so you can use the 82mm filters you buy on a 77mm front element.

I don't see the reason why you shouldn't be able to do so and without vignetting.
To be hones though, I have never put any filter on my 10-20 so I wouldn't know how it would react
