Perhaps this might convince you?

The other thing that this shot does for me is to reinforce my decision to keep my K10d as my "manual" body. For some reason, my best shots with K and M tele lenses have always been on that body, especially at low ISO as you were able to use on this shot.

Thanks GeneV.

I seldom shoot at anything but ISO100. The K10 and my K, M and A series lenses do seem to be a good fit.

That body is where I have the screen with the focus aids, which also helps.

Wow guys! Great responses so far! Keep them coming.

Being as I've never used a Takumar im not quite sure what you mean about the above I do agree about that fluked test.... the M 85mm pictures speak for themselves.

I'll have to look for them... though AFAIK they go for a fair amount more than their M counterparts and I am supposed to be saving for the K-7 My lens lineup has nothing wider than 50mm other than the Kit lens so I've been looking into a 20mm+ lens. Maybe I'll sell the M 200mm to dent the purchase

Ha that she does

Nice sharp all around shot Tom... what aperture? No surprise its better than the M 200mm... I personally am not willing to pay that much for a manual 200mm lens sadly, unless it was a macro . Now why don't i see any decent shots from any other K lens?

Thats the key.....
And personally I think the M 50mm F/1.7 has fantastic bokeh. Look at the example I posted... if you look past the highlight bokeh its quite good IMO.
You should also check this forum link on the K135/2.5:

“Starscream” has posted the best portrait shots I have seen on the forum and he is using a “K” series lens.

I checked PENTAX Photo Gallery for K SMC 85mm f1.8 and pictures are so beautiful. Cool. I checked Buy & Sell New & Used Cameras ? Canon, Nikon, Hasselblad, Leica & More - KEH.com and they have SMC 85mm f1.8. Not bad $$$
