A few possibilities: B&H and Adorama
1) are waiting for the new WR version of the lenses to come out
2) think that Pentax will go bankrupt
3) think that prices will go down
4) think that prices will go up, and are holding on their stock to make more money

It's probably due to strong K-x sales. With many people choosing the K-x as their first DSLR, Pentax probably didn't anticipate their sudden popularity and how it could impact a demand for more glass. That’s a good problem to have.

Check out the listings for Henry's (Canadian camera shop) on ebay. With 8% Bing cashback for Buy-it-now, the FA77 ltd is cheaper than B&H or Adorama had it for. Also slightly less than some of the used ones in the marketplace.

By the way, the DA 12-24 is also out of stock in most american online retailers. Maybe because of the huge difference in price with Canada and the fact the dollars are at parity these days.
