Cleaning lens - your methods

What is your preferred way to clean your lens? Lens cloth with a cleaning solution or lens tissue. I would like hear how you keep your lenses clean. Thanks!

My God man, you don't clean them do you?
If I don't have a microfibre cloth around, I'll use an old cotton tea towel or an old t-shirt.
Never was one for lens cleaning solutions, if breathing on the lens doesn't get enough moisture onto the glass I'll just lick it and then wipe it off.
It's crude, but it works.

I keep lens a cloth handy, and sometimes I use a lenspen. No fluid on my lenses.

Idem. Breath moisture and microfibre cloth. (At worst, if I cannot find anything other, a very, very soft cloth with a few water drops.) Full stop.

I never use a cleaning solution.

As far as possible, I don't clean the glass elements

I am lucky, till now just don't have a need to do that

Even on my filters, I only use lens tissues

Problem is we don't usually wash the lens cloth we use (I really am quite lazy)

Sometimes small little dust particles can accumulate on the cloth surface and they can accidentally scratch the glass elements when you rub the cloth over them

Oh, and the blower! The blower comes first, before tissue.

Eclipse Lens Cleaner or diluted isopropyl alcohol with cotton swabs is the proven and best method. No residue, no lint, no damage to lens coatings, no scratches.

Lens tissues like all paper products are abrasive.... don't use. Microfibre or soft cotton such as Selvit cloths with a bit of breath to steam things up. If the airs too dry either put the lens in the fridge for a few minutes or wave it briefly in the steam from a boiling kettle.
