Tips on buy a lens?

Yeah it does man, but something that extreme is sorta hard inside a store to try... have you ever tried it at a store though?

I'm not sure .... maybe it can be done.. but it would only show how close you can zoom into something, not really if you can take a picture of something far? (confused)
