i think the 77mm f1.8 will fit your needs, unless you get a tad too far from the action

if like me you like a razor thin DOF to bring out your subject. that is a great fast portrait lens.

To keep the picture sharp you need to shoot at a higher f-stop anyway, so higher ISO maybe the only way to do. Maybe time to upgrade camera body.
