Which K mount F1.2 lens would/have you chosen?

What is/was your selection of F1.2 glass and why?

I've only included the K mount glass on the poll.

A version. why? aperture control (very important for me, especially with slight adjustments and metering). 9 blades, when stopping down aperture, better bokeh IMO.

The A series 50 1.2 was superb. Mine died with my P50 when it fell off the end of the back of a ferry on the way back from France 15 years ago. I never replaced it and I have missed it.

I voted for A50/1.2 though I'm quite happy with the K series

I presently own only F1.4 lenses, or slower, and unless I happen across an F1.2 cheap, I doubt I woud buy one.

I jsut don't have the need/use for it with what I do.

as a result, I would say that if presented with multiple options at the same time, and price, I would take "A" then"K" then other K mount, then other F1.2 with a mount conversion.

but sinde I am not planning to buy one I won't vote, because it would skew the results

I have the A series because I got a very good price on it. Optically, and aperture wise there shouldn't be any difference in the 2. The A of course has the contacts which is a plus. However, I would hesitated on the k if the price was right. I posted some info in a couple of threads on price sales break down on these.

Edit: Here is the post I made a while back.

QuoteQuote:
The average I have for the A is $494 with a range of $300-685 based on 14 lenses from fleabay, KEH, and here.

The k averages about $381 with a range of $153-500 for 28 lenses.

That doesn't count the person that sold about 30 of the A on ebay for an average of $285 and 9 of the k for $217. He also sold 5 K1000 with f1.2 A attached for about $100 before he realized what they were.

I actually have a pair of A50/1.2 lenses at the moment as I accepted one in trade for a lens I sold (despite already owning one).

I really do like having the "A" function, although I've never tried a K50/1.2, nor any of the other options, so I guess it would be hard to say if I might prefer one of the others if I tried them.

I have a K 50 and the Porst. I prefer the Porst wide open, but the K stopped down.

I got the Pentax K version because the A ones are too expensive for their usage value IMO.

K50/1.2 as I have K series film bodies and have no use for the "A" contacts. The K series version is also less expensive.

Voted for a50, after recently buying a a50 1.7 (and loving it) i find the auto aperture is a great useful feature of these old lens.

I got the K50 f1.2 simply because I got a good deal on it ($175 with some condition niggles). The A does have that extra aperture blade, which is nice, but I'd not want to spend exorbitant amounts for that little extra that f1.2 gives you.

I have Vivitar Series 1 55mm f1.2 (K-mount, filter 58mm)

That is a very rare lens. I'm not totally sure but I'm guessing that it's optically quite similar as Cosina 55mm f1.2...but at least...it's nicer looking lens

I didn't know there was a Vivitar f1.2 K mount. I'd have added it to the poll.

Where did you find this oddity?
