need some help for long trip

Hi,

I need some advice on what lens and other equipment to bring on my trip.
I'll be away for over 3 months, going to australia, japan and china (monsoon season).
This will be my first trip going away for so long.
I'm would love to take the minimum possible - travel light, but then I don't want to miss any shots.
I'll be able to bring with me some of my dad's equipment as well. I will be doing all kinds of photography, including quite a bit
of low light but then thats what the Kx would be for. Wildlife photography is not a priority, but I will be in australia.

here is what I have and am considering:

k10
kx (planning on buying anyway)
optech dual harness with a regular neck strap

Kata 3n1 30
gorillapod + head or mag fiber tripod, useful but heavy enough.

10-20mm f4-5.6 or fisheye (such a fun lens) or both
16-45mm f4 or 16-50mm DA*
55-300mm (willing to buy) or 50-135mm with 1.5x kenko shq TC

21mm ltd
31mm ltd
77mm ltd

lens availabe to me that can be considered
sigma 18-200mm (dreadful)
40mm ltd
43mm ltd
50mm f1.4 FA
200mm f3.5 (manual lens)
100-300mm f4 sigma

an 18-250mm would be an interesting purchase

I don't think a flash would be too useful. but I have the 360 and metz 58.

i Have a canon s90, considering a getting waterproof case for it or an
ewa marine case for the pentax (I think I would use either the 16-45mm or the 10-20mm) for the diving and sailing
at the great barrier reef and australian coasts.

thanks

You're asking a thousand people here (and more), giving a thousand options, so don't expect to get the same advice twice.

Bring two lenses, and my advice is not to tell you which two, so you can decide for yourself.

The 10-17, a 17-70, and that 100-300 if its any good, or the 55-300 if not.

A travel kit - go with light yet quality zooms.
If you're into FE, then take the 10-17, otherwise stick with 10-20, 16-45 or 16-50 (if you can justify the extra weight) and 50-135+TC (or buy the stellar 55-300 if you find the 50-135 too cumbersome and weighty, which it would be after a while on your back or shoulder...)
