pentax DA lens question

Hi, I have tried in vain to find out the difference between the Pentax SMC DA 55-300mm f/4-5.8 ED zoom lens and the P-DA version.
Does anyone know what the P stands for?

P stands for "Pentax". Yup, that's it.
The full name, I think, is actually SMC Pentax-DA etc etc, so P-DA works as an abbreviation

There is another version of that lens, though, called SMC Pentax-DA L 55-300, note the L - which is a "lighter" version of the same lens.

Well, there is no P-DA version, there is the DA and the DA-L versions. The difference is the DA-L version has a plastic mount, no hood and no MF clutch when in AF mode. Optically I believe they are the same.
