Um, someone I know of closely, just got a Sears 135 2.8 KR mount mounted on a K100DS. Now it is stuck on the body. He did the MF-AF trick already, no joy. He's thinking of going brute force on it, but still thinking if it would damaged the body and opportunistically see if the lens can still be used (Yeah, it was $10 lens bought from goodwill - but hey, someone sold it for $45 after the offending pin was removed...yeah he's pathetic). Joking aside, definitely the focus now is to ensure the body is unharmed. Looking at the situation, there is not much gap between the lens and the body to insert something to break that pin. Hacksaw is a little bit remote right now.

So now, begging on his knees, are there any other tricks to remove this bad boy lens???

Unfortunately the only other time I've heard of this happening it didn't end very well, I think that the person ended up finding a way to unscrew the mount itself and then prying it off that way, but in the end the mount wouldn't work right after that.

The best thing I can suggest then is to destroy the lens, or at least dismantle it enough to be able to take it off from the inside (maybe if you do it and count all your steps you can still put it back together).

Credit to moyworld.com... I found a link to post to dpreview. It's late to get a automotive feeler gauge now. Tomorrow should bring a fresh start. Hopefully I have enough room in between the body & lens to jigger it with the feeler.....

Try a stiff index card before you go to AutoZone. The feeler gauge works, though. That's what they do in a camera store.

That poor lens won't ever know what's coming for it! It's ok boy, nobody REALLY needs to be a man *plays tune for the lens*.

Good to hear that you got it off. I too have heard about the card trick and that it works very well. If this ever happens to me I will be ready for it.

Glad to hear the feeler gauge worked. I have the PK model of that lens and it's a great lens to have in the collection. I'm sure you will love it once the neutering is done!

Well even though I don't have any lenses with the Ricoh pin any more I think I'll just go get a feeler gauge anyway.

Make sure you get the thinnest one you can get, <=0.05mm. Also, for me, it took extra hands. Rotating the lens, pressing the mount button, probing with the feeler, while jiggering the MF-AF button. I can't imagine if I have to do it by myself. Mrs. Aseno helped.
