There is an Additional Option below the text box to "Automatically retrieve titles from external links". Unclick it :-)

Oh, by the way, since I got the Pentax 50-200mm, I use the Sigma 70-300 APO much less. I find I need to increase the contrast to +3 on the Sigma at the long end. The Pentax seems to have slightly better IQ over the common FL. No quasi-macro, however, and less reach obviously - but about 1/2 the size. The 70-300 will make you the center of attention when it is extended to over 10" :-)

Here is my informal comparison test (includes the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 non-macro).

Further to my earlier advice, I, too, have the Pentax DA 50-200 and would definitely use that more than the Tamron I spoke of. I bought the Tamron chiefly for the Macro facility, but for the occasional need for the bit extra reach.
Then I suppose a 1.4x telecon with the 50-200 would provide that anyway, if your that way inclined.
So many options, so many decisions????????

Sorry I missed the other replies. I have had the Sigma 70-300 APO lens for a couple days and am quite satisfied with the results of just random things. though I will have to wait until the weekend to give it a good try on things like birds and such

The Sigma 70-300 apo macro dg is good (at least my copy). I updated to the F*300/4.5 because the sigma can't take a TC.

A new Sigma is about 240 a second hand F* or FA* 300 goes between 600 and 750 euro (1euro=1.4 USD)

The Tamron adaptall 300/5.6 is rather sharp but MF.
