But over $600 on fleabay for a A 50 1.2, I think I would rather spend that on a new F-DA 100 2.8 WR.
it depends on what purpose you have and need for. this might be a good choice if you don't have macro, but I don't believe it would be a better choice over the faster 50's and 85's if the purpose is something else.

I have now sold my K50/1.2 with some regret. Financial pressures. For me keeping FA43/77 combo makes more sense, since they are smaller and cover a wider focal range.

On the upside, Robbie from this forum now has a lovely new toy to play with!
Sorry to here that. I think Robbie is going to use that lens in the single lens in November game.

funny enough Robin, I've been thinking of doing exactly the opposite way! For me it's all about OOF. And 50/1.2 just blows 43 off the water. It matches perfectly with 31. 77 fit's the line up but it's tad too long for me.... I'll see...
Indeed, we all have our different priorities. I would have thought the FA77 was too long for me as well, but it has become my single favourite lens. It does not have the ultra-amazing smooth manual focus control of the K50/1.2, but makes up for it in other ways.

In a perfect world I would have both, but things are rarely perfect as a struggling media artist!

Now I feel mugged!
Only kidding, fell in love with this hunk of glass over the last week or so, maybe not to the extent that Axl has but enough to keep it permanently attached to my K20D to figure it out the next 30 days. I am feeling the pressure a bit though, the camera is good enough, the glass is good enough, I am begining to wonder if the 2 of them will conspire to expose my deficiencies
It is a bit of a bugger to focus @f1.2 though, and i'm cheating with a Optibrite Katzeye! My best effort so far:

I nearly bought Axl's copy off him ... but in the end ... I could see that he would have missed it so much. And after seeing what he can do with it ... I doubt I would have done it justice really.

I'm still on the look out for one ... even if it is a Revuenon or Porst f/1.2 ... there's a few out there still ... I just don't have the available funds for it really just now.

the filter ring came off, it was held in place by three tiny screws under the focusing ring. I tried to fix it but couldn't take the focusing ring off. So I took it to repairers. The lens underwent complete CLA and reattachment of the filter ring. I'll have 1 year warranty on the job and best of all, I was called yesterday that it's back and waiting for me so I can come to collect it

Hadn't realised that 1.2 is so much more dramatic than 1.4 or 1.7. It really gives you a lot to play with, that focus/out of focus thing. Tricky to get the focus though. Useless shots to judge anything by (iso 2000 & 640) but thought I'd post them anyway .
