Kenko 1.5X Pz-AF Teleplus SHQ TC or "regular" Kenko 1.5x Teleplus TC?

AF focusing issues aside, does anyone have any thoughts on the actual optical quality of the Kenko 1.5X Pz-AF Teleplus SHQ Teleconverter vs the Kenko 1.5x Teleplus version?

Depends on the lens you will be using it with. None of the lenses in your signature will do better with the TC than simply cropping.

Marc, thanks for the reply. I'm actually doing a bit of a "field test" comparison with a couple of different TC's and the 55-300. I've done just a little bit so far, and it's been interesting to see the specifics of the IQ in a given situation.

To answer my own question, based on what I could find online regarding the details of the 2 TC's, and seeing some sample images done with the Pz-AF SHQ, it looks as if that TC and the non-Pz 1.5x TC use the same optical formula.
