Dang. And I was just thinking today, as I was was switching between my taks 55 and 105 and lamenting the fact that I didn't have anything between, how it might be time to bite the bullet and try for an 85.

I won't go to $350.

Or WILL I? Or maybe I'll go to $400!!! Or maybe I WON'T and you'll end up obligated to buy it for $350!!!

As a matter of fact, maybe I just want to max out at $250, but you don't know that, and you'll wind up in a bidding war with some drug tzar from Colombia or Mexico.

It's your call, guys. Play with me and be ready to pay the price, or just stay OUT of this one.

To be honest, I can not understand the fuss about 85mm focal length.

I had a Nikon 85mm F/2, planned to keep it to use on Pentax DSLR bodies, then I sold it after I found out how much I could get for it.

I had an A* 85mm F/1.4, I sold it and bought a Tamron 90mm F/2.8 macro and a DA 70mm Ltd., and still had money left over.

Maybe I'm just clueless.....

No-can-do on the resale. I like its rendering WAY too much:

I'll give you a hint, though -- you have to get a bit lucky, but local camera swapmeets are often a MUCH better deal than eBay.

(This shot was taken with the Auto Tak, while I was trying it out at the swapmeet.)

These are ALL great responses, and the DA10-17 or Simga 10-20 (can't make up my mind) can wait until next payday, April 30.

Also, these have been going for around $300, so I expect it to be around there.

Also again, I am not the seller, and I'm way too stupid to know how to effectively use reverse psychology anyway.

Also, also, and ALSO again, how can you legally tell me about this available lens in excellent, excellent condition at around $300?

I use my 90 Macro Tamron (hardly), and the cheap kit lens, which I know is capable of great results.

But there's something about working with these Taks that I adore. I'm not saying my RESULTS are stellar by ANY means, but the process...the feel...it's just not the same thing with the modern stuff.
I know what you mean, but one thing you have not considered yet is that if you get this lens, and an ultra wide, yoou will need another line in your signature

I like that idea. I due to make a site donation. How's 10 bucks to everyone on the thread to keep our site supporter status going and keep us from jacking up the price on the next 5-6 of these that come up?

Peter U R Bad

sounds good to me, then all we need are 20-30 more threads like this and we can go out and buy another lens or two for ourselves
