Don't bid on an 85mm 1.9 now on eBay

(I should have said Super Tak in the title here, and I should have said 1.8. Forgive me, but I'm old and diseased in the mind.)

Just warning all of my "friends" here that I unexpectedly came into some bucks today (a freelance job that I thought I would never get paid for), and I started bidding on this one.

So if you hate my guts and want to bid it up to screw me, have fun. But I really want this lens and will go to the max to win it. And over the max.

Or maybe I WON'T go to the max, and you'll have to buy it yourself.

It's your choice:

Fight me on this one, or overpay for it yourself.

This lens is a real collector's keeper, and for all I know, it sucks--but I still want it.

I think you should throw a "please" in there. I'm out anyway though--too many lenses in that range!

Good luck!

Same would be for yourself if you place the final bid.

You mean that one for $275.00? Damn these things are getting big bucks now. A year ago you would rarely find one over $200.00 F1.8's rarely went over $300

I won't gloat but I paid less for mine, (assuming it is the one I saw on Ebay. But I had to settle for a hood from the SMC Tak 85 1.8.

No real difference except that it is clearly not the "correct " hood.

price is not too bad Hope you get it it is a great lens. the focusing takes a little time to get used to but that is because it is 330 degrees from min focus to infinity.

Ira . . . what's your wife gonna do when she finds out about the 85/1.9 AND the DA 10-17?

Ah, the year of living dangerously. . . .

Good luck with the auction--and the aftermath, too!

These are ALL great responses, and the DA10-17 or Simga 10-20 (can't make up my mind) can wait until next payday, April 30.

Also, these have been going for around $300, so I expect it to be around there.

Also again, I am not the seller, and I'm way too stupid to know how to effectively use reverse psychology anyway.

Also, also, and ALSO again, how can you legally tell me about this available lens in excellent, excellent condition at around $300?

I use my 90 Macro Tamron (hardly), and the cheap kit lens, which I know is capable of great results.

But there's something about working with these Taks that I adore. I'm not saying my RESULTS are stellar by ANY means, but the process...the feel...it's just not the same thing with the modern stuff.
