Great shots.
The FF sensor really shows the swirl at its full magnitude.
I´m gonna have to upgrade my K50 soon.
A7II or K1? Who knows.

Thanks and yeah, the bigger sensor gives much more room for swirls which is what I really like about the Helios look.

Street Meat time! 44M-4 58/2 on K-50

Edit - I chose to post the BW version since the color version could theoretically "discourage" some folks.

A week with Helios 44M-4

I spent about one week with a copy of this gem... It changed my mind set of the 58mm focal lenght; I'm honestly really enjoying a 58mm on Cropped Sensor! Unfortunately it was a loaner and will go back to its owner... We'll meet again!

Here are some shots:

Nice shots. You’ll be able pick up one or the other of the 44 family for next to nothing on the Bay or elsewhere. Have fun (and keep sharing)!

Thank you! Yes, I'm looking already - wondering what will be the difference bettwen, for example, a 44M-4 and a 44M-6 (the last digit)

The difference is the resolution. And usually the newer versions have less swirly bokeh.

Thanks... I do like their swirls, after all, that is their mainstream selling point.

That´s true, but the newer ones (44M-5, 6 and 7) can be seriously sharp, specially in the center.
If you like the focal length I´d suggest you to have at least 2 versions, the old (44 or 44-2) and the new (44M-x).
Or you can become a fan like me and have a dozen different versions
