Still waiting for my 44-2 to get here from mother Russia. Will I still be able to get good swirly bokeh with an aps-c sensor?

Yes. I've seen it in the forums. I have the 44-2 as well, and it works a bit better with a Canon body due to the adapter - on the pentax, the m42 adaptor leaves a very small gap that lights come in (upper right hand section of the body of the lens side when you shooting) - some black tape can ameliorate it. The canon, the adapter leaves no gap. Not a deal breaker on the pentax, but just keep it in mind.

Do not dissapoint yourself though. work around it, it'll be worth it.

I just use a black elastic hair band to block out the gaps. No messy sticky electrical tape. Comes in handy too when you want to get creative with flares.

Stole a hair band from my wife already, so all ready for it to get here. It will arrive this Monday since I wasn't home when usps came today. The seller wanted me to sign for it and didn't give me a heads up

Lol, nice to see my idea taking off. Hahaha! I've had long hair on and off since school, so hairbands aren't a stranger to me (my gf's are the ones who'd be always stealing ones from me).

Well my lens finally got here. Had to go pick it up at the post office, and it was only wrapped in a layer of bubble wrap then just thrown in an envelope! Guess these things are built like tanks because it is still in good shape and focuses like butter. A little oil on the blades but I knew what I was getting from the photos. First impressions are very sharp wide open, excellent bokeh, and minimal purple fringing/ chromatic aberrations. Can't wait to get outside and get some swirly bokeh shots, since it seems a little harder to do than it was with my Takumar 35mm f2.3 I once had.

First swirling bokeh shot. I think I would get much more of it with a full frame though:

By the way this little cactus starting growing all by itself in my backyard!

Sweet! you really hit the ground running with this one! If you enjoy film, try to find an inexpensive Spotmatic... pairs great with this lens, and you'll get the full frame joy.
